Little is left today but a few bricks of the Confederate Civil War Salt Works. But, standing here looking out on the old pond from which water for the salt was drawn during the war, it is easy to let your imagination draw you back in time. You can almost smell the gun powder, almost hear the sounds of the cannons on board the United States Bark "Kingfisher" anchored just offshore in St. Joseph Bay. Although the Saltworks was destroyed on that fateful day in 1862, the site has been reborn for the enjoyment of those who come to discover the Old Saltworks Cabins. This special hide-a-way preserves the beauty and quiet solitude that makes this area so special.

All of our rentals are in Barrier Dunes, a gated gulf front neighborhood offering 2 pools, lighted tennis courts, fresh water fishing ponds, boardwalks and pet stations throughout and, best of all, always a family friendly environment to enjoy your beach vacation! We offer eleven 2BR and 3BR townhouses that range from direct beach front to no more than 200 steps to the beach and all close to each other if you have a big group. No streets to cross to get to the beach other than a quiet, neighborhood street in some cases.
