Midtown Dining: Ashland Pub - 2453-A Old Shell Road - 251.479.3278. These guys don't have a real web site yet but the do have real pizza. Dine inside or out, enjoy the atmosphere. Great pizzas and sandwiches the last time I was there. Bivona's Butch Cassidy's Cafe - 60 N. Florida Street,(251) 450-0690: Thisone is right around the corner from my house and you cna't beat the burgers, the wings, the reubens, the beer. A great place for lunch or dinner. Chuck's Place - 2503 Old Shell Road, (251) 478.2881. Chuck does a great job with this little restaurant. Very personal service. Many folks make Chuck's there regular weekly dinner spot. Quite atmosphere in an old house just down the road from Butch Cassidy's and Ashland Pub. TP Crockmiers - 170 South Florida Street, (251) 476.1890: An old Mobile standard that has been around more than 30 years. Great food in a real, old style "smokey old bar, atmosphere. Great little music venue too. Serves lunch and diner to a very loyal crowd Mud Bugs - Dauphin Island Parkway, (251) : Take out only. This is a fishmarket but they do some incredible cawfish and shrimp. Queen G's Cafe - 2518 Old Shell Rd. 471-3361: Home-cooked vegetables and entrees. Lunch only, Monday-Friday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The food is great the dining room is tiny. You won't regret a visit to Queen G's Cafe. Ttrolley's Neighborhood Pub - 2101 Airport Blvd., (251) 479.7778: Trolley's has great sandwiches and other unique creations, not the standard fair. A quaint little location in the Loop area surrounded by antique shops and local stores. Have a bite and shop a bit. It makes for a really nice afternoon. |
