Favorites Businesses and Other Things In Mobile, Alabama | People find their own favorite things. You find a favorite restaurant, a favorite park bench and so forth. Sometimes others share your opinion and sometimes they don't. Gulf Coast Info is no different. We have favorites but here is the thing, you can't pay Gulf Coast Info to get added to our favorites pages. If you want to advertise on Gulf Coast Info we are happy to accommodate you, send your money and we'll get your ad up if it meets our standards. If you want to get added to our favorites then you need to do your job the next time we stop in. Just remember, we're not going to tell you who we are so you need to make sure you treat every customer with respect and courtesy. | Auto Repair
| Red's Automtive - Noel Avenue: Red's has been in several locations over the years. For a long time the shop was at the corner of Bit & Spur Road and Old Shell. You'll find them on the east I-65 service road between Old Shell and Dauphin now. A fmaily business that does a great job of fixing your car at a reasonable and affordable price. | Banks
| Banks are generally a pain and you tend to go through them. If they are not causing you a problem now just wait, they will sooner or later. Our pick in Mobile is Compass Bank | Chinese Restaurant
| An unassuming littlestrip center location. Hong Kong Island has doubled in size simce I started going there more than 15 years ago. The menu has expanded and the food always seems to be good.
| | Dive Shops | Gulf Coast Divers is the oldest dive shopin Mobile and close to being the oldest on the Gulf Coast. Excellent instruction from a friendly staff and the best repair facility you will find. Learn to dive, find gear, do a refresher or advance your dive training. Gulf Coast Divers is the place to be. | Donuts
| Krispy Kreme on Government Blvd. wins hands down. Of course the only other real donut competition in town is the Krispy Kreme at Airport snd Hillcrest. Don't let the health nuts spoil all your fun. Get a Krispy Kreme every now and then. | | Mardi Gras Parade | There are a bunch of parading organizations in and around Mobile, Alabama. Some parades are more kid friendly than others, some are easier to get to but all of them are fun for the whole family. Of all the parades that roll each year the MOT, Mystics of Time, has got to be the most popular. The family of dragons, Vernadean (the mom), Verna and Dean, always delight kids and the Marshalls in black and silver set an immeasurable standard for other horse riding paraders. | Pastry Shops
| Mobile has never been a hot bed of pastry development but there are several places that do incredible work. Gulf Coast Info favorite is The Pastry Shop on Dauphin Street just west of Florida Street, next door to the CVS Pharmacy. Open Monday through Saturday | Transmission Shops
| Dago's Transmission - Bayshore Avenue - These guys do what they tell you they are going to and they do it for the price they told you they would do it for. Customer service doesn't get much simpler and affective than that. | Turf
| Need some grass? Woener Turf has been around, they have their own turf farms in Bladwin County and their grass is always primo. Need a pallet or just a square? Woener Turf has got you covered and they self other lanscaping materials as well. | Wine Shop
| Taste on Old Shell Road at Florida Street. A unique atmosphere,no pretense, good and fairly priced wine and a little wine bar. Taste always has a wine tasting happening, usually with food and live music. | | We'll be making further additions to this list very soon. Sometimes we jsut get very tired of typing and need to take a break. Please come back soon. |
