Florida truly does have some of the greatest fishing on the gulf coast. Florida certainly has the longest gulf coast coastline and the State of Florida has spent years and millions of dollars developing the fish habitats and access to those habitats. Florida sportsmen and visitors reap the benefits of these efforts.

Like most states, Florida requires most residents and non-residents to purchase a fishing license for saltwater fishing. Florida has different levels of license and a varied fee structure. You may also be required to purchase a permit for certain species of fish. If you are not required to buy a fishing license you are not required to buy a permit.
