 | Where is the oil sending unit located on a 1992 Ford F 350 7 with a 7.3 L diesel engine? | | The oil sending unit is located on the top of the engine underneath the air filter and just to the left of the glow plug control module. You will see one wire coming into the oil sending unit (oil pressure sensor). The Voice of experience: If you are looking for the sending unit you must suspect a problem with the unit. If you have been experiencing no pressure indication or an erratic pressure indication (fluctuating reading or pressure drops to zero when you hit the gas), before you go to the expense of purchasing a oil pressure test gauge or just the trouble of removing the sending unit to connect your tester, try unplugging the wire from the sending unit and replacing it a couple of times then check the pressure. You may have something as simple as a poor connection. If this doesn't fix the problem it is time for your tester. If you don't find the sending unit on top of the engine then read below. Some have advised the sending unit is found just behind the oil filter. I have never found it there but I do notice a lone bolt in the engine case that might well be another location for the sending unit. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
