Of course there is always plenty to do at Mardi Gras. In the week sleading up to Mardi Gras day there are parades almost evry night. Some are good, some are not so good. Most of the time this depends on the weather. Some of the organizations that seem to always out on a good parade. The Conde Cavaliers, Comic Cowboys, Incas, Strippers, Infant Mystics, Order of Mystics will keep you entertained. By far the biggest and best of all of the parades occurs on the Saturday before Fat Tuesday. Tha'ts when the MOTs roll. The Mystics of time is one of the oldest and is the largest parade that will roll through the streets of Mobile.

MOT floats are always spectacular and it is clear this organizations cares about giving a good show to all the show up to watch. Forty mounted parade Marshalls in Black and Silver lead this huge parade through the streets of Mobile to the sound of high school and college marching bands. Most unique are the three dragons Vernadean, Verna and Dean, the wind down the street spouting fire and smoke.

So what do you do during Mardi Gras. On the days which have multiple parades many people come early and make a day of it. You'll see campers and trucks with grills going strong as revelers wander from party to party. All of the downtown eating and drinking establishments are always open and you'll find entertainment everywhere.

On those days that have only a single parade or two societies rolling back to back most people show up after work to enjoy the parade then continue the festivities afterward.
