When the power goes out your quality of life is immediately affected. Chances are you will loose your power during a hurricane and it may be weeks before it can be restored.
If the propsect of no refrigeration, no AC, no television or no internet access is not acceptable you have two alternatives. You can evacuate prior to every hurricane and not return until power is restored or you can install an emergency generator to satisfy your power needs until regular power is restored.
