Throwing Up Under Water | | | Not a very attractive subject I know, but knowing the best method of doing this could make things a lot easier on you one day. It never hurts to be prepared. | | | Throwing up into your regulator is one way to accomplish this but it is probably NOT best way. Sure, the regulator stays in your mouth but you're going to want to take another breath right after throwing up and, if you throw up into the regulator, your next breath will be a fairly chunky one. | | ** The Method **- Take the regulator out of your mouth then push the mouthpiece into the right corner of your mouth and press the purge valve. A good stream of bubbles will begin shooting past your mouth.
- Once you have the mouthpiece positioned, you have pressed the purge valve and the bubbles are streaming, you can take care of business. The nice thing is, all of the contents of your newly empty stomach get pushed off to the side by the bubble stream from your regulator and your regulator stays clean.
- As a bonus, by keeping the purge valve pressed, when you roll the mouthpiece back into your mouth, the regulator is cleared and ready for you to take a breath.
By the way, if you dive buddy is a photographer this can make for an excellent picture because the fish just seem to love your misery. | |
